St. Patrick’s Day
Leprechaun Craft
Top O’ The Mornin’ To Ya!
I was able to do this quick craft with my one year old and
two year old sons. They had a good time
using a different tool to paint with!
Materials:
Canvas or plain paper
Googly eyes
All-purpose glue
Orange paint
Green and black construction paper
Sharpie
Fork
Creative child
I started by getting all of the supplies ready before
showing my kids what we were doing. Whenever I do crafts with them, they will
usually get ahead of me if I’m not prepared and the “fun” activity becomes
stressful.
I cut out a hat from the green construction paper and a
strip of black for the hat ribbon. I then gathered the googly eyes and set them
out on their individual canvas.
I put glue on the green hat and black ribbon. I showed them
wear it would look the best and let them put it where they wanted. I then put
some glue on the googly eyes and again had the boys put them where they wanted.
Once we had assembled what was starting to look like a face,
I gave them a fork and demonstrated dipping the fork in the orange paint and
tapping it onto the canvas in order to make a beard for the leprechaun. I let
them get carried away with the rest! Once they dried, I drew a little nose and
a smile with a sharpie.
I think they turned out pretty cute!
